About DMW Recruitment

Dave Wainman is the founder and managing director of DMW Recruitment. Having had years of experience in the industry, Dave identified a gap in the market for a recruitment agency that was purely a specialist in this sector and to be based in the strategic hub of Teesside. His broad business and people skills suited the role and he launched DMW to offer the service and environment that suited the market.

Dave believes that resilience, drive, level-headedness, and positivity are essential qualities for success in the industry. As the managing director, his role is very varied and no day is the same. He still has a very active role in all the clients and candidates whilst making sure the operations and financial side run smoothly to allow DMW to maintain the excellent service they offer.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and attending sports events. With two young children, he and his wife are always busy but he loves taking family trips and occasionally dancing around ‘like idiots’ with his children.

Gareth Rutherford is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation recruitment. After working as a contractor on Teesside’s heavy industrial sites, Gareth found his calling in recruitment and has never looked back. Gareth joined DMW Recruitment from day one and has found it to be the best move he has ever made professionally.

At DMW Recruitment, Gareth is responsible for sourcing the right candidates for specific roles and projects, ensuring that clients’ labour manning levels are met, advising on current market conditions, and ensuring that candidates work within government employment guidelines. He also oversees payroll, and invoicing processes, subsequently dealing with any queries that may arise.

Outside of work, Gareth is a father of two young children and enjoys spending time with his family. He is also an enthusiastic dog walker and a keen squash player, volunteering at his local club during his downtime.

Paris Desouza Guillot is a recruitment professional and the head of the permanent international division with over eight years of experience in the field. Having previously worked in 360 degree Recruitment in London, Paris joined DMW after being given the opportunity to work alongside Dave and Gareth, drawn in by their expertise and the way they operate. 

As the head of the permanent international division at DMW, Paris is responsible for designing and implementing a recruitment strategy for DMW’s international target markets, including Hydropower, BESS, and PV. This involves engaging with key clients or potential candidates and making successful introductions between the two.

Outside of work, Paris enjoys staying active by attending CrossFit regularly and is an avid football fan, supporting his local team, Middlesbrough FC.

Nathan Devlin is a seasoned recruitment professional with a wealth of experience in the industry. After completing courses in mechanical and electrical disciplines, he worked on several sites but then decided to move into recruitment within the industry. His knowledge of the environment that candidates will work in and his understanding of the pros and cons of different projects make him a valuable asset to the team.

At DMW, Nathan’s role is to service the current client base and also expand it where possible. He also aims to speak with new or lapsed companies to develop relationships and future work. Nathan’s knowledge of the labour market that they operate in enables him to identify gaps or areas where they may struggle to find certain roles and cause problems in the future. 

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time walking his dog and travelling. He also likes to be involved in anything competitive, which makes company race days always fun.

Leanne Haran is a Principal Consultant at DMW Recruitment.  Leanne started her recruitment career as a resourcer in 2011 managing an engineering desk, before working for large corporates and SMEs. She joined DMW Recruitment, primarily due to the team having the same ethos and work ethic as her.

Leanne was inspired to pursue a career in M, E&I recruitment due to her fascination with engineering and her experience working on local projects in the area, such as SeaDragon, Ensus Bioethanol Plant – Wilton, Vopak Chemicals, and flood projects for Hull. As a Principal Consultant at DMW, Leanne develops business with new and existing clients within the oil and gas, petrochemical, construction, and renewables sectors. She builds relationships with quality candidates and matches them with their ideal roles. 

Outside of work, Leanne enjoys adventures with her kids, frequently going to the gym, learning new skills, reading, and travelling around the world.

Alex swiftly transitioned from sixth form to DMW Recruitment, lured by the role’s versatility and the northeast’s proud labour legacy. After two positive interviews, Alex eagerly joined the team, ready to embrace the sector’s daily new challenges.

As DMW’s business administrator, Alex leverages key qualities for industry success: confident communication, proactive initiative, and a flexible approach to multifaceted project solutions. They are diligent in handling client information, ensuring precision and order.

Outside the office, Alex’s enthusiasm extends to sports, enjoying boxing, football, and darts, and exploring unfamiliar places, looking for adventure and variety.

Sam Robertson’s background started in 2022 where he was part of the Operations Team for a panel management company working in valuations. He found himself at DMW as he has always been interested in recruitment and he knew DMW would’ve been the place for him. The main thing that brought Sam to pursue a career in Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation recruitment is how niche this sector is.

Sam believes that the essential personal qualities for success in the recruitment industry would have to be confidence, determination and to be a good team player.

Sam’s role at DMW is a Recruitment Resourcer, in this Role he will have to have a strong work ethic and to show willingness to learn and develop.

Outside of work Sam is a keen golfer; he also enjoys following his local team Newcastle United Football Club at both home and away matches.
